Indian-Origin Student Sudiksha Konanki Missing in the Dominican Republic

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old college student at the University of Pittsburgh, has gone missing after traveling to the Dominican Republic last week. Konanki, an Indian citizen and a legal permanent resident of the United States, was among six female students visiting Punta Cana, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A piece of clothing believed to belong to Konanki was found on a lounge chair at a beach in the Dominican Republic, raising concerns about her whereabouts. Authorities have not yet confirmed any further details regarding her disappearance.


Konanki and one of the other students in the group are residents of Loudoun County, Virginia, the sheriff’s office stated. Efforts to locate her are ongoing, with local authorities and U.S. officials collaborating on the investigation.
